Spox: 11 Russians evacuated from exploded ship Front Altair
MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) -- 11 Russians, 11 Filipinos and one citizen of Georgia were evacuated from tanker Front Altair which exploded in the Gulf of Oman, spokesman for the tanker owner Pat Adamson told PRIME on Thursday.
“We have 11 Russians, one Georgian and 11 Filipinos on board. Everyone (was) evacuated from the ship… They are safe,” Adamson said.
Iranian and Arabic media reported earlier on Thursday that two explosions occurred in the gulf, possibly as a result of an attack.
Adamson told Reuters that the ship is burning but has not sunk: “There are pictures from a salvage vessel that is circling the ship, and the vessel hasn’t sunk.”
